Merseytravel is the public transport authority for Merseyside. As such, it operates in a tightly regulated legal and policy environment. Yet to be effective, it must be able to communicate its plans and strategies to a wide audience – namely public transport users in Merseyside – through channels such as the corporate plan.
Working with the client’s nominated design agency, Vivid, Wordsworks developed a communications framework for the corporate plan based on the client’s proposed key messages.
We spent several days collating and reviewing source information, including interviews with senior management at the organisation.
We then structured and wrote the content (c. 5,000 words) in such a way as to make it as accessible as possible to the general public, using a simple structure, multiple points of entry and a ‘plain English’ approach where possible.
